Do you think the £2000 car scrappage scheme in the budget will affect the used car market?
It will make used cars more expensive as there will be less; it’s a scrap scheme, if the owner takes the £2000 their old car is turned into an iron oxo cube. Edit: There will still be less to choose from, the whole idea is to sell more new environmentally friendly machines not make buying second hand more attractive. They’ve already made the insurance on 4X4’s cost prohibitive, now you won’t be able to buy anything ten years or older, so the people who would have will be after the same cars as you are and the cost will rise.
