One respondent claims that Muslims were killing Jews even before WW2 – clearly they have no idea that The Balfour Treaty was in 1917, during WW1, and probably are simpleminded and ill-educated enough to believe that Israel is a consequence of the ‘Jewish’ Holocaust. Firstly, the middle east prior to Balfour was peaceful, with Christian, Jew and Muslim living alongside each other with respect and understanding of each other. This had been the way since the days of Saladin. When he came to power 700 years ago, the Orthodox Catholic church took over administrating to the Christians of Palestine (from the Roman Catholic church), Jews had their own Rabbis (just as they had done since the times of the Greeks and Romans – remember King Herod was a Jew) and the Muslims had their own mosques.
