Do you think that presidents during the Gilded Age effectively dealt with government corruption?

not sure what is meant by the gilded age.every administration condemns corruption but the capitalist model of devil take the hindmost doesn’t recognise when it is being corrupt they just see it as a smart move .the government can only take action agreed by the house of Representatives and the senate .as all the people involved owe their presence there to some vested interest or other which will come somewhere on the list of corrupters voting through any serious clean up attempt would be turkeys voting for xmas and thanksgiving combined , rest assured corruption is an ongoing thing.
