Do you think that boom town rats song i dont like mondays should of been banned ?
As far as I can see the song wasn’t officially banned. Brenda Spencer’s parents attempted to have it banned but were unsuccessful. However the US radio stations wouldn’t play it because of the potential for being sued by the parents of the girl or her victims, as well as the potential for being sued by the parents of anyone who did a copycat killing, claiming the song inspired them. Since people are now suing video game makers for their children’s rampages, it seems a reasonable fear. Its now twenty years later so the risk of being sued is much lower and not many people remember its about a school shooting, they think its about the work week.
