Do you think social interaction between children in similar age groups is important or beneficial?
Yes it is very important! This shows and helps the children relate to other children and encourages empathy/sympathy etc. all of which has to be learned and is a good skill to have in life. Children also need to be around other children their own age so they can relate (an adult cannot always relate to children as well as other children can and if anyone thinks they can all the time they are mistaken – its just not possible really same as a child cannot always relate to an adult). They need to play etc. with other children to build relationships and learn to handle conflict as they WILL have to deal with this their entire lives. These are just a few reasons why it is important and beneficial for children to interact with other children but there are many more!
