Do you think religious vows of marriage can be demolished by signing some divorce papers…….?

Well, lets look at it from both the religious and civil viewpoints. A marriage is not only a ‘religious’ commitment if you are a believer, but a civil or legal commitment AND a contract, too. The legal aspect of the marriage means that the State can grant, dissolve, end a marriage as far as their recognition of it existing. So when it comes to legal ‘rights’ such as ownership of property, health benefits, SS benefits, pension benefits, legal responsibility for the other partner, financial obligations such as support, and next of kin status…yup, the state can say NO MORE marriage and all those perks are gone….zippo. Now to the ‘religious vows’…that only will go as far as the people who believe and recognise them…right? So if one is religious and insists the marriage cannot be ended by the state, and the other says yeah, right and obtains a divorce…well you can believe and act upon what you believe all you want if that means you consider yourself still married to your ex even tho
