Do you think Ralph Nader influenced the 2000 Presidential election?

Nader voters had already decided that both major candidates were dopes. If Nader had dropped out they would have gone to another fringe candidate, done a write in or just sat it out. The idea that they would all have magically decided to vote for Algore is specious nonsense. In most of the states where Algore lost (except for Florida where the election was rigged) he would have lost anyway even if he had gotten all the Nader votes. Nader had no chance of winning and nobody knew it better than he did. It made him a lot more fun to watch because he got to say what he thought instead of blowing smoke to the big voting blocks like the majors have to to win. You didn’t have to agree with the guy to enjoy watching him run. And it’s always worthwhile to have somebody in the campaign to point out the Emperor’s transparent wardrobe.
