Do you think mothers should be arrested and “face serious charges” for leaving children home alone?
I’m in the South East of England. My next door neighbour did exactly the same thing but it could have been fatal. She has 3 children 8yrs, 4yrs and 2 (very young) When she moved in, I introduced myself to her and her family just to say hi, but she was very distant. She broke up with her partner and was left to look after the 3 children on her own. She then began to leave the the children at home alone on occasions. I had a word with her and told her that I was aware of it and I told her if she really needs help, she can leave the children with me and they can play with mine – she was still very distant and continued to leave the children on their own. One Friday evening, I could smell burning next door – my neighbour had left the children on their own, they got hungry and decided to cook something.
