The fact is that the Labour Party has always been kept afloat financially by the Trade Unions. If the Unions withdrew their financial support from the Labour Party it would be a disaster for the Labour Party. It therefor stands to reason the Unions still have a vast influence on the Party.

No its run by Champagne Socialists like Peter Mandelson the Trade Unions might have influence in the future when the Government are kicked out next year. Labour might go back to its roots and have a rethink about the direction it was going in would if i had a say.
