Katy Perry has always been a fan of the retro pin-up look, but it’s taken a turn over the past year or so. The singer recently said of her signature style, “I’ve gone from Betty Boop to more Bettie Page. It’s less cute and more meow.” Part of that maturation has to do with her makeup. Perry once used to rely on the kindness of makeup counter artists for Los Angeles music industry events, but these days, she’s got a makeup artist working some very interesting looks into her repertoire. At the Tuesday premiere of Get Him to the Greek, Perry sported severe black eyebrows to match her jet-black hair and retro false eyelashes. The result? Old school intensity.
