Do you think its strange that grown-ups take Abrahamic religions seriously?
Strange is not the correct word for it: Insanity has been defined as doing the same action over and over expecting a different result. Abrahamic religions have existed for more than a millennium and whether Islam, Christianity or Judaism they all have created a worst quality of life for everyone involved. There is no indication Abraham even existed, a great many reasons exist to believe he was just a myth! The word for those taking the Abrahamic religions seriously is not “strange” the correct word is “Insane”!
“Strange” is a label that dwells in the mind of the perceiver. One must understand that all things arise due to causes and conditions, are changing and impermanent. So if someone chooses to perceive the Abrahamic religions as something serious, then that person’s opinion is valid, but maybe not correct. That perception may change or become not much point to it if one studies the concepts analytically and with an open mind. It all depends on your philosophy. Me, I’m a Buddhist, but I have respect for others who think differently, as long as it’s not hateful or harmful to other sentient beings.
