No. Rather it is the lack of Islam that has resulted in suffering and poverty for many in the Muslim world today. There’s not enough space here to explain this in detail but Muslims and other knowledgeable people will understand what I’m talking about and the related hadith. With regards to your question on terrorism, it is a political tool that has been used for centuries by many to achieve political goals through violence. It was used by the crusaders. It was used by America against the native Indian population. It was used by Hitler against the Jews and fellow Europeans. The Serbs used it against the Bosnians. All of these particular events were perpetrated by Christians. Note I’m not implying that Christianity teaches terrorism. More recently terrorism was used as a political tool by the IRA in Ireland and Baath separatists in Spain. It was used by the Hutu’s in Rawanda. It is being used by Mao separatists in India.
