Do you think humans are mindless creatures who simply react to stimuli or are rational, thinking beings?

To call ourselves an “advanced” species is to limit our imagination. I think some humans are mindless creatures. We all have some fundamental drive to seek out the truth. Somewhere along the lines, a large number of people become distracted by convenient explanations, such as religion, and fail to seek truth in its essence. It lies within the world around us. Not within a biased interpretation of it. Those who can grasp science and its importance to our future is a rational thinking being. It’s really hard to generalize rationale within a given species. Reason is a tool shaped by experienced and sharpened by logic. The inability for some people to think is either a result of their physiological limitations or their self-inflicted limitations. I know several people capable of strong reasonable thought but simply choose to pursue the more fleeting pleasures in life. I know alot of people who seem to just react to stimuli. There are times when I pity these people and time when I envy them
