Do you think England Australia and SA should teach spin bowling to kids at school?

It is not only England, Australia, South Africa – but all Cricket playing countries need to teach the art of Spin bowling. We have the great spinners around the world – Warne, Kumble, Bedi, Prasanna, Gibbs, Chandra and they need to utilize them in their academies or even as part time coaching staff to develop young spinners. As a fact sub-continent India produces many spinners but yet not many are as talented as the bunch I mentioned with few exceptions. Lately with the game moving mostly towards the batsman paradise, the quality of spin bowling has suffered the most. In the least they are needed in Test and ODI games and a quality spinner restricts the scoring rate.

I think more kids will be bowling spin in the coming years. The difference in previous years, is that in the 80’s fast bowling dominated world cricket, every kid growing up wanted to be a fast bowler, so a huge influx of fast bowlers appeared on the scene. Now people are seeing the likes of Warne and Muralitharan doing what they do best, and more and more kids will want to bowl spin like there heroes. I believe this is a natural cycle, more and more good spinners will come onto the International scene in the future, especially with the current pitches in Test Cricket.
