Yes. There are food additives that are strictly forbidden in the European Union but are allowed in the USA, for example. Sensitivity to the chemical will vary according to each individual but it’s safe to say that over-exposure, plus the overall health condition are determining factors in the severity of the symptoms. There is not enough information about certain products to say anything for sure, though over-processed food contributes to obesity. Anything which over-relies on salt and sugar for longer shelf life usually does. The consumer cares about the quality of the food available though it’s hard to make a fully informed decision when laws don’t force the disclosure of ALL additives used and when there is a limited amount of money.
