Do you think Askville is a virtual Utopia?”
When Thomas Moore pictured his island of fantasy, Utopia became synonymous with an ideal place or state. That would include perfect laws and politics. Even the morals are supposed to be perfect. In my opinion that doesn’t describe Askville. I do think it is a good place, but not a perfect one. This community comes from all over the globe which pools a vast array of knowledge, but that also includes thousands of different opinions on how each thing should be done. Some topics are full of discussions that are just arguments. Feelings do get hurt here. Some people leave. Many are not happy. If a place is perfect wouldn’t you be happy there? Shouldn’t you be? Maybe feelings should be set aside and have no place in perfection, but if something is really perfect why would people want to leave it?
