Do you think Arnold schwarzenegger is doing a good job as Governor for the state of California?
You’re kidding me right?
Arnold is governing by taxing us to death. I believe in fair taxation, and I know that California coffers are in sorry shape, but every penalty and traffic fine has doubled in the last 12 months – and sales tax has gone up by 1% – because Mr. Arnold promised to balance the budget and has found that it isn’t quite as simple as balancing his own checkbook – which he does with the help of residual checks!
Focus people – your homes are worth less, state unemployment is at an all-time high, and state government offices are only open every other Friday – a mandatory pay cut for state workers as a cost saving attempt.
His allocated funds to museums and educations screams "Kennedy" – thank goodness – and don’t kid yourself – he does not have a liberal bone in his body –but again — we are lucky enough to have Maria Shriver as a voice of reason – at least to some degree.
Honestly, with the exception of 2005’s special election fiasco… I think Arnold has been one of the better governors California has had. His own brand of fiscally conservative and socially liberal policies puts him at the libertarian end of the GOP. In short, the Terminator is no George W. Bush clone. He is pro-choice, for same-sex civil unions, against tax increases, for improving border security, and has a strong environmental record to boot. This puts him squarely in the mainstream of California politics. He’s also been surprisingly good for the places that didn’t vote for him, which is a sign that he actually does care about the unity of the state (and that he isn’t just another partisan hack). He allocated money to important museum projects and schools in Los Angeles. He got Virgin Atlantic to move it’s U.S. headquarters to San Francisco, and helped the city snatch up 3 billion in stem cell research grants. Any other Republican governor would’ve written those liberal cities off t
