Do you think america should drop bomb on japan (hiroshima and nagasaki) or not?
The carpet bombing of Tokyo and other cities actually killed many more than the atomic bombs did, it was the threat that these bombs posed to the rest of Japan that forced them to surrender. They knew there was nothing more they could do but to see even more of their country and people decimated, it was over. I can’t really say, but I think the war would have gone on longer if it wasn’t for the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and perhaps many more people would have died and much more of Japan would have been destroyed. Horrible events, but there is some importance in the fact that those 2 bombs were and are the only 2 atomic bombs ever used in war. People know what they can do and what they symbolize. Who knows, if they were never dropped there, nukes may have been used somewhere else, and perhaps in greater numbers, and with far more devestation. It seems the legacy of the bombs have stood up to the test of time, and I hope nukes will never have to be used again.
