Do you think a single Active duty E4 in the army can get a military housing in base ?

Possibly it can depend on the base. In some locations they are allowing several single AD members who normally live in barracks to occupy vacant housing. This is only in areas where barracks are crowded & military housing has openings for long term. The only other time you will be allowed to live in housing is if you have a custody of a child. Usually you will be required to live in barracks until you are at least E5 or E4 with 4 or more years in. Then you will qualify for BAH w/o dependents and can live out in town.

You can live in the barracks but not in base housing. Base housing is only for married active duty with dependants.
