Do you think a American Mastiff mixed with a Great Dane will grow HUGE?
I really don’t mean to shoot you down or be rude, but please don’t refer to an Anatolian Shepherd/Mastiff mix as an American Mastiff. It drives me crazy how people are suckered into believing that the American Mastiff is a breed. (I’m not talking about you, I don’t know anything about you, but anyone who is interested in these so-called American Mastiffs or hears about them or anything.) The AM is a complete designer dog. It’s marketed as basically being a tight-lipped (which equates to non-drooling) Mastiff. This, of course, is far from the truth. Many AMs inherit qualities from the Anatolian Shepherd, who is quite different from the Mastiff. Anatolian Shepherds are possessive, demanding and domineering. Many are known to be barkers or diggers. They’re independent, stubborn and require a LOT of exercise. Buyers who believe they’re buying a dogs with Mastiff temperaments are often tragically mistaken when their puppies grow up to have the typical personality of an Anatolian Shepherd. I
