Do you remember the murder of James Bulger?
Yes I remember little Jamie Bulger – the haunting images of him being led away by his murderers – (no more than children themselves, at the time). Sadly, your account of Jamie’s suffering is only a small documentation of the extent of his torture and death. I still struggle to accept that the two boys responsible have been given new lives with new identities – I can’t get my head round the fact that they have been released…..so, so wrong. I work with abused and abusive young people, and am fully aware that sometimes it is just NOT SAFE to let them venture into society, for the protection of others. I wouldn’t walk a step in Jamie’s mum’s shoes, never mind a mile.
Yes, remember it well and never likely to forget it. Those boys are free now with new identities and living there lives somewhere apparently. His parents I believe split up because of the sheer heartbreak it caused them. One boy was particularly evil showing no remorse whatsoever. I would never have allowed either of them out of prison, children themselves at the time but old enough to know exactly what they were doing I can find no forgiveness in my heart for those 2 who took an innocent child and murdered him in the most horrible way, shame on the so called justice system. What does it take to lock those away who commit such evil crimes!!
