Do you prefer synchronous or asynchronous photosharing with friends/ family?

I am trying to see how many people prefer to share pictures real time (synchronous) through screen sharing on the Internet just like one would do offline with a real photo album or if most prefer to send it off for recipients to get to it if and whenever (asynchronous) they can. I would love to know the easiest tool you use for your preference.
