No it is not necessary to use iTunes for transferring music,etc. to your ipod. You can use other standalone ipod managers for this purpose.Some free ones are: Floola: http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/floola/… YamiPod: http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/yamipod… And,yes; you can definitely put music from other websites,CD’s,etc. on your ipod.
