Yes you do. I had to have a saddle fitter to come out for my large gelding’s saddle. They do fit it incredibly well, I don’t think they charged extra for the fitting. But you need to have it fitted by a proper professional, a personal estimate, a friend checking or a shop assistant having a look even if they say they have done it before is NOT a good idea as you can end up with serious back problems, violent bucking, sores etc I know a lady who does it herself and her horse walks like a crab and has had endless treatments, rests, massage therapy because of his back.
