Do you need to be certified to go snorkling in the cayman islands?
You don’t need to be certified to snorkel anywhere in the Caribbean, at least anywhere I have ever done it. Many resorts have snorkeling gear you can borrow and use right there off their beaches. Excursions will of course require money for you to boat out to the better spots to go snorkeling, but they are usually worth the money. You also can do what’s called resort scuba, which is where you can go scuba diving without certification. A trained guide will give you basic lessons and go with you for shallow dives, sometimes in the range of 10 to 20 feet. That’s a fun experience as well.
