Do you need good grades/GPA to get in a college in california?
Yeah, it’s true. I’ve seen a lot– A LOT– of kids who did the same thing as you (doing poorly the first two years of high school, turning around later). They winded up writing about their “extenuating circumstances,” which is basically making your excuse and saying you regret what you did, your sob story, etc., and got into UCLA, Cal, and all the other UC schools. Do somewhat well on your SATs and join a bunch of clubs and sports. I honestly don’t think that the UC admission process is as selective as it should be (I know someone with bad grades and a 1890 SAT who got into UCLA and Cal and something with great grades and a 2200 SAT who got rejected from Cal), but I suppose the UCs’ socialist tendencies can’t be helped (: Also, UCs love kids with mid GPAs. Not too high, not too low. Good luck and work hard!
