Do you need a tv licence to watch videos downloaded from youtube?
LADYSARAHMAY IS SPEAKING UTTER RUBBISH. I don’t know where on earth she has got all that nonsense from. You do not need a TV license to watch youtube videos. Most of the answers on here are completely wrong. I am in favour of the UK license fee, so don’t get me wrong here, but the letter of the law is very clear – you only need to have a license if you are watching a television. A computer monitor hooked up to a computer is NOT at TV. Youtube has nothing to do with the license fee. You can even own a TV and not have to buy a license, provided that it is not connected to an aerial and/or receiving live TV broadcasts. You also DO NOT need a license for video, radio, mobile phones,computers, dvd – we do not live in a dictatorship.
