If you are a British citizen you Don’t need a passport, (Kris I wish people would stop saying Yes because its totally untrue) With ryanair and aer lingus you definitely do not need a passport (you’ll have to check with other airlines for their policies) R/A and A/L accept a driving license. I fly to Gatwick quite regularly, Last time I flew there was 2 weeks ago with Ryanair and I used my Driving License, you dont go through passport control at the airport when landing, they just check that you have a valid boarding card. So trust me if flying with either R/A or A/L YOU DO NOT NEED A PASSPORT only a VALID PHOTO ID. Please ignore those who say that you do need a passport, but just double check with your airline if you’re not flying with Aer Lingus or Ryanair.
