Hinduism is not a religion started by anybody unlike Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism etc. In olden days leaned men, Rishis, did penance and wrote down vedas, Upanishads which are (what they called ) truths. Slowly rules were framed by later date men Like Manu etc. Lord Krishna also through Gita gave a broad outline for Hinduism and made the four Varnas of Bhramin, Kshtriyas, Vysias and Sudras based on the two qualities of “Karma” ( Function or job) and “Guna” ( the character). Nobody is by birth a Bhramin, Kshtriya, Vysia or Sudra etc. In Vedhic times Hindu women were highly educated and even wore the sacred thread across their shoulders and gave advice to their husbands and others and ran schools and households. They had the right to select and choose their Husbands in “Swayamvaram”. So there was no necessity for a divorce. But in extraordinary circumstances divorce was granted by the village panchayat, kings courts etc.
