Do you have something to say about Australias defence or other national security issues?
Your comments and opinions are important. Few Australians change their vote on a national security issue alone. When many Australians do realise the vital importance of a defence issue, for example, it is often due to a crisis that requires sudden use of our defence force. Unfortunately, by then, it is usually too late to redress the years of complacency or neglect concerning adequate national investment in our common defence. As a consequence of this electoral indifference, Australian politicians tend to neglect their defence responsibilities, especially as an issue requiring long-term planning and sustained investment over long periods. But they are able to do this only because most Australians (and the media and other opinion makers) allow them to do so.
