Do you have any trivia or little known facts about ZooLights that Oregon Zoo Visitors might not know?

We have volunteers working on ZooLights ALL YEAR. Many of our light displays are made entirely by volunteers, and they start in January! The lights themselves start going up around Zoo grounds toward the end of September. It’s really a whole-year process! Is there anything new this year at ZooLights? People might remember that we had to find new homes for all of our free-range peacocks a few years ago. So our ZooLights team decided to create a flock of lighted peacocks. They’re scattered around, some kind of hidden amongst the other ZooLights. If people can find all 6, and correctly identify the locations, they can get a reward in the Zoo Store as they leave the grounds. Do any of the Zoo animals really seem to like ZooLights? I’d have to say the tigers. They are crepuscular, meaning they are most active at dawn and dusk, so ZooLights is good timing for them. They like to sit out on their heated rock and watch all the action. For Oregon Zoo visitors to get the most enjoyment out of Zoo
