Do you have any future plans for Goodell Physical Therapy & Fitness Training?
Goodell: We’d like to offer more seminars to the public on the benefits of physical therapy and exercise. I’d like to see us involved in the community more and are planning on doing a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in which we offer fitness screenings and education in safe and effective exercise in exchange for donations to the society. We had an event for the American Lung Association this summer which was fun, but we want to get the word out to a larger group for the next event. ADVANCE: PT is a field that is constantly changing. What do you see for the future of PT? Goodell: I think more and more the public will recognize us as the 1st choice for education in an exercise program that protects the body. I see us moving in a direction of autonomous and direct access practice where we are primary caregivers for musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders and for preventative wellness education, and that we’ll be writing “prescriptions” for our patients to go see MDs f
