Do you feel depressed after watching HBO series like Rome or Deadwood?
I did something similar in which I got both series and watched them all over a few days. When they were both over, I definitely felt a type of loss, not a depression. They were both very engrossing shows with the storylines, the acting, and the sets and costumes that I really got into. They were good stories and I was a little sad to see them end because they were great entertainment. Readjusting to such an intensive immersion into another world can be difficult, especially if you admire or identify with certain characters. It’s the mark of a really good show if it captured your imagination on such a deep level that way. People confuse actors with their characters all the time; they feel they “know” the person, and let them into their house, in a way. There’s also the excitement of watching every episode to see what comes next. After finishing both shows, you know, and you can’t recapture that magic of discovering.
