Do you discard athames/bolines that have accidentally drawn blood during their creation?
No. Some Pagan smiths follow this tradition of discarding tools that draw blood during the course of their creation, but I do not. I believe that an artist’s creation carries part of the artist within it. This can come from love, determination, will, a signature, a drop of sweat or even a drop of blood. Additionally, I feel that tools of the Craft possess personalities of their own. Some tend to have a more aggressive nature.
