Your best friend and her boyfriend have been going together for three years. During that time, she has been slowly integrating into his family. they may have gone out on trips together, done things together etc. As such, she probably has a relationship with his family. You and your boyfriend have only been going together for a few months. During that time, you probably haven’t built as much of a relationship with his family. I would probably hold off on buying anything right now. Christmas is still more than four months away. If during that time you do build a relationship with his family, you’ll still have lots of opportunities to get gifts.
