Do you believe the current war in Iraq will surpass the Vietnam war in years engaged?
War was over with the defeat of Saddam Hussein’s army and the Bath party. What is left and no less difficult or dangerous is establishing law and order in a country that has not had it for decades. I understand it is just words but lets not be disingenuous. The US will be supporting the Iraq government with our military for many more years. If not we will be supporting our other friends in the region in a hot war with the combined Iran/Iraq/Syria/Russia on one side and Egypt, NATO, Turkey, Saudi Arabia on the other. This war will lead to hundreds of thousand of deaths and make the Iraqi wars look like a picnics.
