Do you believe that people receiving public assistance should be subject to random drug testing?

I don’t believe that anyone should be subject to random drug testing. I do not believe that it is your employer’s business what you do in the privacy of your own home. If you’re doing drugs at work or coming to work stoned or high or drunk than that is different. Randomly testing people on public assistance will probably hurt the people who need the assistance the most. If someone is a drug user, they probably are more likely to need food stamps, etc. because they have a drug problem and are probably having difficulty finding a job. Starving them or not allowing them to have any money for housing will punish these people with a problem which they probably need help with. If they have children, then their children will also be punished for their parents sickness.
