Do you believe in Bigfoot/Dinosaurs/Jersey Devil/Chupacabra/Abominable snowman – or any of those things?
Dinosaures were real. They are mentioned in the bible plenty of times. God talks about them. Remember that the Bible was translated into English long before the word “dinosaur” was made. However, the word “dragon” appears 21 times in the Old Testament alone. “You shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shall you trample under feet” (Psalm 91:13). From the context it is clearly speaking about a real creature that it would be impressive and intimidating to step on! Jeremiah 51:34 tells, “he has swallowed me up like a dragon…” which brings to mind the way many carnivorous reptiles swallow their prey whole. Both dragons of the sea (Psalm 74:13) and field (Isaiah 43:20) are mentioned. Indeed, Genesis 1:21 can best be translated: “And God created great sea monsters…” One such sea monster became sufficiently well-known to the ancients to be given the special name “Rahab” (Isaiah 51:9). Yes, I do believe in all of the above. Dinosaurs are easy because there are so many records of their existence. I love watching the documentaries about the rest on TV. There must be some truth to them because there have been so many stories, sightings and evidence from different people in different areas. Scientists are always discovering a new species of some kind or another. I think big foot is fascinating because they are so elusive and mysterious. And the Jersey Devil just scares the cr@p out of me. I love a good ghost story! I think God knew what he was doing when he created these creatures…. even if it was just to keep us guessing.
