Do you believe Carly Smithson singing “Superstar” offended some viewers?

Just a little note to “Missin” — the rules to try out for American Idol say that you cannot AT THE PRESENT TIME be under contract…Carly was not. She had just as much right, if not more, to be on the show. She has a fantastic voice. It seems that whenever people sing a religious song, they are voted off…I didn’t think it would happen because “Jesus Christ Superstar” was a big rock hit back in the day. I wish Carly well in her future.

I thought it was great, but as she was singing I was wondering the same thing. The girl can sing regardless of what it is. I am looking forward to what she does with her talent in the future.
