Freedom of the press in the United States of America gives the right to publish anything that the press sees fit. There are numerous groups of all types that publish anti- materials. All interests have been targetted at one time or another whether they be an ethnic group, religous group, political affiliation, etc. As an example, in the past few years, there have been numerous jabs at the Catholic faith due to the indiscretion of some priests and the cover-up by the leadership of the Catholic Church. The fact that all priests were not pedophiles did not stop anyone from painting all of them with the same brush. The same can be said of Muslims. Not all Muslims are radical extremists but that shouldn’t stop the press from taking jabs at them the same as they did the Catholic Church. That being said, there is a place for restraint. Just because you are allowed to say anything you wish to in the press, doesn’t mean that you should. There is some call for human decency. T
