Do you agree with President Obamas decision to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center?
The closing of Guantanamo Bay was a symbol of change. Security is important but America must rise above even the appearance of torture. G. Bay was a symbol of torture. America should not even stand accused of torture much less actually inflicting it. If we use torture methods to get information, then we are no better then the terrorist which we oppose. We should not want a government that advocates any kind of torture. I, for one, do not want to surrender my civil liberties to any government in that way. I know Alquida wants to kill us. However, Thomas Jefferson, I believe said: “those who sacrifice freedom for security, deserve neither freedom nor security. Good move closing the base, Mr. President! I salute you.
