DO YOU ADVISE TAKING LANTUS AT BED-TIME—NIGHT?
Lantus is a long-acting insulin that works over the course of 24 hours. It is typically taken at bed-time or night so that the peak effect is during the day the next day. However, your physician may want you to take it differently, so never change the dose or time of your insulin without consulting your doctor. If you are concerned about what your doctor is prescribing, consult with your pharmacist or another doctor or nurse for a second opinion. It is possible that lantus can be taken twice a day or at a different time of day, but typical use is once daily at bedtime.
