Workers’ compensation is a type of policy that is purchased by employers that provides protection to an employer from lawsuits and pays an employee for injuries sustained on the job. Each state has laws that require employers, with a certain number of employees, to purchase workers’ compensation coverage from an insurer. State laws that regulate workers compensation benefits are basically the same but do contain some differences depending on specifications set by each state.
