Do women in India use tampons or sanitary pads?
Hi , I am an Indian & women here use sanitary pads widely in cities, tampons are not well known here. As for the villages, women still use cloth pieces which are reused (by washing & drying). Pads of various sizes like small, medium & extra large are easily available in Indian markets. Even in cities it depends on the financial status, poor & uneducated women cant afford pads , they are not very expensive though. Also older women like my mom prefer using a cloth as they’ve been using it for years & are not comfortable with pads. Its just her mindset I would say. And the different menstrual cups that i found on the net have to my knowledge not been introduced full fledged in India yet. Religion has got nothing to do with usage of pads.
