Do winged ants bite?
I don’t think the winged ants would be the ones biting. The non-winged ones should be the ones you have to worry about. It sounds like you’re overrun with them. It might be time to call an exterminator. Or there are a lot of good pesticides out there that should do the trick. Ortho Max, Grant’s ant granules, Terro, or Raid makes little bait stations that are pretty effective. Also the thought occurs to me that they may not be ants at all. You might have a termite issue. If you’re seeing a lot of “winged ants”, check around on the floor, there may be a lot of wings. Termites send out the fliers to establish new colonies, once they get to where they are going they shed their wings. I had this same scenario a couple of years running before I looked the insect up on line and called for help .
