Do Wills HAVE to be signed by the person making the will?

0

If the testator (the person making the Will) is physically unable to sign it him/herself, it is ok for someone else to sign on their behalf provided this is witnessed (ie there is an witness to the fact that another person signed the will on the testator’s behalf because they were unable to do so, but the testator understood and approved the contents of the Will). However if you are saying (I think this is what you are saying, forgive me if I have misunderstood) that someone else has effectively forged the testator’s signature, then the Will is illegal. Basically, if someone else has forged the testator’s signature (even if this is what they wanted) you have a problem. If someone other than the testator has signed the will in their own name (but on behalf of the testator) then probably not. Hope this helps…
