Do Wiccans believe in Jesus?

0

Wiccans do not believe in Jesus as Savior since they do not believe that anyone is in need of saving in the Christian sense. The material world is not evil, sex is not shameful, and human actions are not judged by a god with the intent to categorize us for an afterlife, nor are we held accountable for the actions of our ancestors (as in belief in Original Sin). There is no fiery hell and consequently nothing to be saved from. Many Wiccans do, however, believe in Jesus as an important historical figure, just as they believe in Plato, Marcus Aurelius, Gerald Gardner, Jerry Garcia, and Elian Gonzales. That he lived seems highly probable, even to those who do not believe he came as their personal savior.

I am a Wiccan who has read the entire Bible.

I believe that Jesus embodied both the Masculine and Feminine principles of the Divine.

The active, creative, masculine principle of The Christ, and the passive, nurturing, feminine principle of The Holy Spirit.

As Wiccans we believe that both principles of the Divine are embodied in Nature and each other. So why can we not believe that  they could have been embodied in one man alone.

In our own faith we accept that the masculine principle of God dies and is reborn again.

If we cannot accept that principle in another persons faith, we need to seriously look at our own beliefs.

Wiccans, like many other religions, believe that Jesus existed, but do not believe in Jesus as their ‘god’ or ‘messiah’. They view Jesus as one among many wise Masters who have walked the Earth teaching the basic belief of ‘unconditional love’ and ‘love of self and others’.
