Do wealth countries produce music and art?
Art and music are produced equally in all countries regardless of wealth. But the type of art and music and how it is presented and sold does vary significantly based on wealth. For example a country has to have wealth to afford a philharmonic orchestra. Whether its a national one or funded through donations and subscriptions. Likewise many people may be creating art in a poorer country but in a wealthy country there will be more art galleries and dealers selling this art – which in turn creates a market which fosters elitism and promotes some artists to special status. This has the positive aspect of allowing an artist to earn a living pursuing art as a sole goal. But to say that the creation of Art and Music does or does not occur in a country based on its wealth is a misunderstanding. See reference below on sites selling African art internationally to try to support such activities as AIDS sufferers.
