Do we need an entry standard training format for medical devices sales in the UK?
I am familiar with the ABHI exam the pharma reps have to take, and have completed the Theatre Skills course aimed at equipment reps working in operating theatres. I am wondering if we would benefit from a similar standard aimed at achieving a fundamental understanding of the NHS and selling into it (ethics, policies etc), e.g. for recruits into the industry from elsewhere. The standard may be supplemented by additional modules for specific industry sectors (orthopaedics, anaesthetics, diagnostics, endoscopy etc etc).
