Yes and No. Outrageous is European paint technology. It is a wet on wet system generally speaking unless a lot of time consuming masking up is required between coats. If the paint application is completed within a 4-8 hour period you will not need an intercoat clear. When significant masking is needed (over 4-8 hours) it would be advisable to apply an intercoat clear and key before masking. Justification for this revolves around the open time (wet on wet capability) of a solvent base coat and the limited time (4-8 hour period) available before it looses its adhesive properties. Our recommendation would be NO to intercoat clear for standard application and small intercoat masking work and YES for large time consuming masking jobs.
